Dr. Yuhe Cao is an Associate Professor of Research in Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso. He holds a B.E. in Chemical Engineering and an M.E. in Materials Processing Engineering from Tiangong University (China), and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from South Dakota State University (U.S.). Since 2006, Dr. Cao's work has centered on membrane science and technology, spanning bio-inspired carbon nanomaterials, wastewater treatment, gas separation, energy storage devices, novel nanomaterials, and bioseparation. His experience includes polymeric membrane fabrication, oil purification, bioactive compound separations, and hollow-fiber membranes for gas separations, leading to patents and peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Cao’s research aims to develop new, cost-effective technologies for wastewater treatment, desalination, and gas separation through advances in materials design, process optimization, and scalable membrane device fabrication.
