Tawanda is a Zimbabwean-born interdisciplinary artist-scholar who engages with practice-as-research methodologies, and with collaborative creative and contemplative endeavors. Current research explores contemporary African theatrical dance, Africana cosmologies, decolonial modernities, and embodied research methodologies. He holds a B.A. in Human Ecology, an M.F.A. in Dance and a PhD. In Africana Studies. Tawanda is an Assistant Professor with a dual appointment in the Department of Theatre and Dance, and the African American Studies Program and the University of Texas at El Paso.
