Piyush Kumar is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP). Prior to his current role, he held a position as a Research Scientist-Associate at UTEP, where his primary focus was on developing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) based heat transfer models for hypersonic flow phenomena. Before joining UTEP, Piyush completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna, in 2022. During his doctoral studies, he conducted extensive research on the dynamics of droplet generation within microfluidic devices. His work significantly advances our understanding of fundamental fluid dynamics in microfluidics and its application potential, particularly in areas such as drug delivery systems and high-throughput biochemical analysis.
