I am a Peruvian educational anthropologist. I joined the faculty at UTEP in 2004. Prior to that (2000-2004), I worked in the Programa de Educacion Intercultural Bilingue en Escuelas Rurales Cercanas a la Ciudad implemented by the Asociacion Pukllasunchis in rural and Quechua-speaking communities in the Peruvian Andes (Cusco, Peru). I completed a Ph.D in Multilingual Studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 2003.
