Miguel A. Ramos holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota (Carlson School of Management). He also holds a M. Sc. in International Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden, and a B.Sc. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from ITESM (Monterrey Tech) in Mexico. His research interests are corporate strategy, international strategy, institutions, and economic geography. He teaches in the areas of strategy and international strategy at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has been awarded several research and teaching awards by the college. Before joining UTEP Miguel was a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from 2006 to 2009. Prior to his academic career he worked for Cola-Cola bottling groups in Mexico in the areas of marketing and distribution.
