Dr. Hu earned a doctoral degree in learning sciences from the University of Hong Kong, a master’s degree in educational technology from Shaanxi Normal University, and a bachelor’s degree in educational technology from Nanjing University. During her doctoral studies, she was awarded the prestigious Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme, the highest level of scholarship offered by the Hong Kong government to attract exceptional global students. Dr. Hu’s research interests include dialogic education, visual learning analytics, collaborative problem-solving, computer-supported collaborative learning, and complexity in education. Her primary goal is to explore the role of academic discourse in teaching and learning and the potential of technology to support dialogic education. Dr. Hu actively engages in professional communities including the International Society of the Learning Sciences (ISLS), the American Educational Research Association (AERA), and the Global Chinese Conference on Computers in Education (GCCCE). In her free time, Dr. Hu enjoys playing badminton, practicing yoga and hiking.
