Dr. José O. Rivera hails from Puerto Rico, relocating to El Paso in 1995. He served as Director of Pharmacy Services at Sierra Medical Center and was Critical Care Pharmacist at R.E. Thomason General Hospital. He became Director of the Cooperative Pharmacy Program in 2001 and also holds the position of Clinical Professor. He holds titles as Asst. Dean of the College of Pharmacy at UT Austin and Adjunct Clinical Professor. He is also Adjunct Clinical Professor at the TT Paul Foster Medical Center/El Paso Campus.<br><br>Dr. Rivera has extensive experience in bacterial research and has been granted funds for research through UTEP, the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, Thomason Hospital, and various drug companies.<br><br>His research interests include: <br>-Border Health<br>-Complementary Alternative Medicine<br>-Antibody Resistance<br>-Medication Literacy
