Dr. Hyeran Chung is an Assistant Professor in the Woody L. Hunt College of Business at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is an applied economist specializing in health economics and the economics of aging. Her research explores how early-life factors shape later-life outcomes, including education, financial decision-making, and health. She actively collaborates on interdisciplinary projects with economists, sociologists, and public health scholars. Prior to joining UTEP in 2024, she completed her doctorate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
