Born and educated in Colombia, graduated with BSc in Microbiology at the Univerisidad de los Andes (Colombia). Obtained a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at NYU. Did post-doctoral work in virology at TAMU and TAMHSC-College of Medicine. Currently works in interactions between the SUMOylation system and viral infection.
