Dr. Contreras has been an occupational therapist for 16 years in the El Paso-Juarez region. Her main areas of clinical practice include hand therapy and pediatric therapy. Dr. Contreras obtained her post-professional occupational therapy doctorate at Baylor University with Hybrid Education specialty certification. Her scholarship is dedicated to exploring the barriers and advantages experienced by bilingual occupational therapy students with the purpose to create culturally sensitive educational programs. Dr. Contreras is passionate about increasing diversity in the Occupational therapy profession to meet the healthcare needs of the current U.S. demographics.
