Dr. Erika Mein is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the College of Education and Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Texas at El Paso. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Reading/Writing/Literacy from the University of Pennsylvania. Her teaching and research focus on disciplinary literacies in secondary and postsecondary contexts, with a particular emphasis on the literacies and identity development of emergent bilingual and Latinx students.
