
Eunae Han
Assistant ProfessorCounseling, Special Education and Educational Psychology
Dr. Han is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso in the department of Counseling, Special Education, and Educational Psychology. Dr. Han earned a doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision from the University of Iowa, one Master’s degree in Statistics from UI, and one Master’s degree in Counseling from Seoul National University in South Korea. Before she came to the United States to pursue her doctoral degree, she worked as a certified counselor for over three years in South Korea. Her research interests emerged from her clinical experiences, which include feminist approaches to counselor education, trauma-informed counseling and supervision, and researcher identity/research mentoring for women of color. She loves to work as a data analyst on a research team. Dr. Han believes that it is important to incorporate multicultural and social justice perspectives into her roles as a researcher, educator, and advocate. She also values her professional identity as a counselor and counselor educator. She is a member of professional organizations including the American Counseling Association (ACA), Korean Counseling Association (KCA), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling (AARC), American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), and Association for Women in Psychology (AWP). She has served as a full-time editorial review board member of two journals from ACA divisions, and she is excited to share her academic journey with UTEP communities.
