A native of San Antonio, Texas, I have academic degrees from Texas A&M and the University of California, Los Angeles. I have been with the University of Texas at El Paso since 1981, serving in a variety of capacities and at present I am a Professor of Biological Sciences. My academic specialty is herpetology, but I am broadly trained in organismal-level biology of animals and plants.
