Adam McCormick is assistant professor of Social Work and Coordinator of the MSW program. Dr. McCormick conducts research in the areas of child welfare and child trauma. Prior to coming to UTEP, he taught for four years at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.<br>Dr. McCormick earned his MSW from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006 and PhD in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009. He worked in the field of child welfare as a therapist and administrator prior to teaching. Dr. McCormick teaches graduate courses in child trauma and child welfare. He has conducted research on a number of child welfare topics, including the maltreatment experiences of LGBTQI youth in the child welfare system, the relationship rights of siblings in foster care, and the effectiveness of Gay-Straight Alliances in high schools.
