My primary goal is to understand the underlying mechanisms associated with congenital human disorders. To achieve this goal I use in vivo loss of function analysis in the developing zebrafish embryo. Using zebrafish allows us to directly follow and observe cells over the course of development. This is a very powerful approach and enables us to model genetic diseases in a cost effective manner.
